• Overall Appearance | On a first glance Adriana seems like your average "preppy cheerleader" though she couldn't be more far from that assumption. She is tall, and stands about 5"8, and you will never see her slouch. She usually has her appearance in order, and when not in shadowhunting clothes she can be found in something vintage. She keeps her hair at a medium length and down with soft curls though while training it can be found up in a neat bun. She is somewhat quiet, and would rather take in the room quietly away from everyone else than join in with the group. She rarely wears makeup, opting for a tinted lip balm instead. She keeps her body slim and fit through training and running.

• Overall Personality |
Adriana looks like a friendly, preppy cheerleading type, but when others speak to her they soon realize she is the exact opposite. She tends to push away others instead of making friends with them. She takes her job and legacy very seriously and works hard to repair the damage her father caused for their family name. She is usually quiet around others and prefers the company of herself. She is known to be very well trained and doesn't spend much time "hanging out", going to movies or any other mundane-like activity. She thinks of the mundanes as something worth protecting and she truly enjoys her job. Unlike most shadowhunters she does not have an intense hatred of downworlders, unless the break the law. The whitelaws are a very old shadowhunting family and tend to have a firm sense of justice and no gray area when it comes to the rules. She usually keeps her emotions in check and is usually thought of as very cold and unattached though somewhere deep, deep, deep, buried inside is a very loving and warm person who she refuses to let come to the surface.

• Overall history |
Adriana was born into a shadowhunting family and grew up with a mostly happy childhood. Her mother and father would spend the weeknights slaying demons and the weekends taking her to various museums or parks. She grew up well versed in the shadowhunting world and her parents always made a point to have her well trained and instilled the importance of upholding the family reputation. Her family was known very well in the shadowhunting community with her great, great, great grandmother being an inquisitor and her strong parents.
That all changed on the eve of her sixteenth birthday. Her mother was killed by a vampire and her father essential lost his mind. Her father spend days and weeks crying, screaming her mother's name in the night. He at times would ramble on as if she was still alive and set a place for her at dinner. Adriana began to have to watch over him, and take care of him as if he was a child. She laid awake many nights listening to him cry and then spend mornings coaxing him out of bed, changing his clothes and feeding him. As she watched her father go from a strong man to a helpless child she vowed to never let herself become close to anyone. She wouldn't risk turning into what her father had become. She finally sent word to her grandmother in Idris for some assistance, and when she had seen what her son had become she urged Adriana to go the New York Institute and offered to take her son home. Adriana resisted at first and didn't want to let her father go, but Idris was the safest place for him.
With much hesitation she finally allowed her grandmother to take her father and she packed up her family's things, sold the house and left for New York. She has been at the institute for six months and writes to her grandmother weekly. She tries to focus on training, fighting and the way of the Nephilim to get her mind off of her father but usually it's to no avail. She has tried to shut off that loving, friendly side of herself and push others away to make it easier in case something happens to them. She refuses to let her emotions get the better of her, and ruin her life like they did her father....even if that means acting like she has none at all.

Adriana sat alone on the grass at the park. She was not on a mission for the Nephilim, but she wasn't here for pleasure either. She was here to sort things out. She had made her way to the spot that barely twenty-four hours ago held the body of a dead shadowhunter. It had been a kid, a young boy barely at the age of fifteen. He had been found by a warlock who immediately summoned the Institute. It had been so out of place and unprovoked that it seemed unreal. There was no war going on, the boy had no political affiliation, it was senseless and random. Random was something that Adriana couldn't let go. She sat down a few feet from where the body was found and stared at the grass as if it would show her clues the harder she stared. The boy had a large gash on his neck, but no blood at the park which obviously meant he had been killed elsewhere. There was nothing on him that would give a hint as to why or who killed him. It was something that rarely happened.
Death was normal, death was expected. Shadowhunters died young everyday, but not like this. Innocent Nephilim children were not killed like this, it just didn't make sense. She wondered how the murdered got to him. It couldn't have been mundane, they wouldn't have stood a chance against even an untrained Nephilim. The Downworlders were for the most part peaceful so she didn't jump on conclusions to them. She figured it was probably a rogue demon, but where had this kid's parents been? It was unlikely that they let him just roam the streets at night so what took place? The institute had contacted the Clave and notified them of the murder. They sent out a team to retrieve the body and notify the parents who swore the child had been in his room the whole night. It was an odd situation, and they were quick to mark it down as unsolved and unlikely to happen again.
Adriana prayed that was the case. Their job was hard enough fighting evil things to have to worry over finding the small body of one of their own. It was a night that she wanted to forget, but she couldn't. She didn't like not getting justice for the small boy. That was why she found herself sitting in the park on a warm afternoon staring at a place in the ground. She hadn't marked herself with any invisibility runes, but she had dressed in a mundane like fashion and had a small dagger hidden at her waist. She wanted to think for a moment and this seemed like the best place for it. She sat back and took a deep breath.
